Neil,
My search for an ultra stable local oscillator went away with the idea
of stripping 10 mhz ( 10 to the minus 12 or so accuracy ) from the GPS
receiver..
Plus it's free!!😁
The reason I used an Icom 706 was that when I disconnect B+ ( 12 VDC )
from the RF PA I came up with +7dbm of signal, just right for insertion
in to a balanced mixer.
I always gotta wait till it gets simple then I can do it.. Imagineering
saves a lot of time and expense @ e-bay..
Let the way come to you, it's like praying.. ( no fooling ) See it then
plug and play it...
