[600MRG] Receptions at w0yse on 630m

Hi Tom and others.
I am planning to just use a simple mixer IC, it is the SA612 which is the same diagram as for the older NE602. I use one now for my LF receive converter to 10 MHz. Circuits for it can be found on the web such as here https://www.lb3hc.net/wp-content/uploads/2019/12/UsingTheNe602.pdf

I will need to set my radio to TX on 10474.2 kHz and feed that to a dB pad to get it down to the power level that the SA612 can handle at its input. There will be a TXCO at 10 MHz to mix with the TX signal which produces 4 output freqs, one of which is 474.2 kHz.

I know that there are other better mixers but I want to use all parts that I already have on hand. Gotta use them up before I meet the Guy in the Sky, just joking....no I am not dying anytime soon, but at 82 there are fewer guarantees, LOL.

I have not yet drawn up a schematic but I think I can make it work. I will feed that into my simple one FET 5w rf amp.

Thanks for asking.

I have begun building a TX converter for my FT891 so that I can use it on 630m for a possible qso using one of the newer modes for LF/MF.

Can you share a link to the converter plans?

I am tossing around designing my own transverter or just buying the transverter from Australia.

If I did a transverter I would kit it just to help get some people on 630M. The lights are always on and often nobody is home.

A 100W single band transverter would be fairly simple. I would love to use something other than my antique IC751A radio. Although it is running 100W+ output now, it is about half my age.
I want to use a newer better radio. :)
