[600MRG] Loop on ground ??

A horizontal loop at low frequencies will tend to pick up EMI from 
nearby power lines whose magnetic field lines are vertical on the 
Earth's surface.
A vertical loop can null out a single noise source and may be less 
affected by power lines.
