 DDS VFO's can be a good way to drive rigs that were meant for crystals.  Here's some info on ones I've built:

Note my booster amp based on the AD811 chip - amps like this are needed to get the necessary output voltage to drive tube rigs.



For a simpler, fixed-frequency crystal replacement, consider QRP Labs "Prog-Rock" kit:

Hard to beat for $18 !



You might also be able to use the Epson SGR-8002DC-PTB-ND programmable oscillator chip programmed by Digikey as described by W9RAN in Electric Radio magazine this month.  The IC only costs $4.
