Ken, I read through the mod you suggested but I do not see why you need to
make the receive amp stay on. It is true that under 1.5 MHz the receive
amp turns off, but it comes back on again when you move to under 500 KHz.
I suppose it is good to know though, especially if you want to dx the
receive in the broadcast band, and it is possible you might want that, but
for our purposes here that mod is not necessary. If you do the broadcast
band receive mod, I would recommend a switch in the wire so you can turn
off (and on) that part of the mod at will.
I will try the rest of your mods though.
