Greetings all:
I have begun transmitting WSPR on 630 meters today .. as of this post, I have made 8 transmissions and the
transmit converter has not exploded .. It is doubtful that I will have any receptions during daylight, but hoping that
nighttime will yield results.. In short detail, the TPO is 20 watts ( best guess - wattmeter shows 30 watts ) into the
loading coil , I know I can connect a DVM inline and measure PA Current, and I will at some point soon ..
I checked SWR function with a dummy load to be sure the FWD/REF section showed something close..
The SWR showed 1.1 on the dummy load .. When I connected to the loading coil; I was surprised to only
need to move a couple of turns on both the matching, and loading ends of the coil, and the meter is showing 1.2 :1
whether I can trust that or not I don't know, but, it is all I have to use .. I ain't walkin off and leavin it !! still afraid it
might explode on any transmission . I really didn't think I would get this far along, so; I'll see how it goes..
73 all:
