This is notice of a new frequency for my WSQcall operations starting this evening. I will move to the upper part of the 630m band, above the WSPR segment.
“w0yse” will be running WSQCall pretty much 24/7 (but, not TX-ing while I am away from the house) on 477.1 kHz (USB DIAL at 475.6) for those who want to try this program at their stations. If you decode my beacon, you can trigger my station to give you a signal report by typing the following (all lower case) w0yse? which asks my program to send out a signal report to you. If I am in the shack and see that you are decoding me, I might try a QSO with you, if you like.
Note that call signs in this program are case sensitive so there must be a perfect match with whatever an operator uses in the callsign box (under OPTIONS or TOOLS, depending on which version you are using). Another command you can use is w0yse@ which will transmit my QTH info.
In order to decode a station, both must be set to the SAME speed (unlike FSQcall). I will likely be at a speed of .5 except when in QSO with a station with good prop between us.
You can find a link to the program on this page:
http://www.qsl.net/zl1bpu/MFSK/WSQweb.htm
where you will also find information on how and what the program is all about. It is a QSO mode program that, although slow printing (about 5 wpm), works down to about -28 dB similar to JT9, but with much more flexibility.
I also have an internet chat page to help you get it working by interacting with others on WSQ. Go to http://www.dal.net:9090<http://www.dal.net:9090/>
and type in your call (or a nickname) and select #wsq as the chat channel.
Thanks, good luck and 73
