Hmmm...
I am thinking that the terminology might be something like this.
Termination means the endpoint to me.
Terminal is where you connect two things or more together as if it’s a node perhaps.
I think Andy could have used the word terminal instead of termination? Maybe that’s where the confusion lies?
Language is a very complex way to communicate. Too bad we can’t go mind to mind instead of through our voices and ears.
Just thinking out loud.

I'm also trying to visualize this one.....
Asked another way:
Andy, when you orgininally installed the 3 new radials....tell us where you connected the end of each one (ie: the six connection points)?
I presumed three of the ends closest to the house were all tied together and bonded to the coax shield of the feedline. Correct?
If so, then the three far ends were left open just laying on the ground. Correct?

I do thank you very much for taking the time to expand on this but I need to apologize up front.....to this ole RF engineer you have made some murky water more muddy.
Let's try this......let's say you added 3 new radials, are you saying that all you did extra now was to connect all 3 ends of these radials with a wire and did nothing else? TU for putting up with my lack of understanding of your explanation.

Hi All:
Perimeter wire and Terminator wire... What I mean by the terms...
A Perimeter wire is a single wire connecting to the end of each radial wire, encompassing,
and forming a closed circuit, ( typically around an antenna system ).
A Terminator wire ( in reference to my specific setup ) .. To terminate suggests;
" to end in a specific place " .. My 3 " short " radials were laying on the ground - connected
to - Nothing.. In my understanding - an " Open Circuit " .. Adding the wire at their ends
made for a " Termination Point " at a specific place.. Each radial is now physically connected,
and referenced to, each other, feeding back to the common point ground rod.

Hi Andy,
Okay, so at age 72 I've learned that the best way to stay ignorant is refuse to admit that
you don't understand something. So here goes. I'm repeating w8bya's question.
How is a radial terminated or un-terminated?

Hi Andy, pardon my ignorance but what is a "termination" wire at the end of a radial?
