[600MRG] 47CFR Part5 Renewals

I have to add to what Steve mentioned about licensed power versus what I actually used  as WG2XSV. My part 5 license was for up to 10w ERP (not eirp), but I never was able to put out more than about 2w ERP. Right now I am limping along with about 1.5w EIRP because I had to send back my MFJ PSU for repair recently.

Thats just MY operation, it does not rule out that others might be running more than they are claiming. We will never know about that ..... (except in Extreme cases, of which we all know of one....)

Are you basing this accusation on a comparison of signal strengths during experimental operations versus those under amateur regulations?  If so, I think you are overlooking one important point:  Some (perhaps many?) applied for and received higher ERP limits on their experimental license than the power they ever actually used.

For example, my experimental license had a maximum ERP of 20 watts.  But the power I actually ran was 1 watt EIRP (estimated using my transmitter power output and antenna characteristics using several online calculators).  I've continued using the same setup under amateur operations.

Stations observing my signal strength over time would see no change due to the switch from experimental to amateur callsign.

I'm no straight arrow, but as a life long QRPer, one thing important to me is the integrity of QRP and indicating honestly what you're running, so I went QRT on 630M and mostly on 2200M too.  I'm considering applying again for an experimental license because I love antenna experimentation and propagation studies and would like to operate again, maybe using higher power than the 5W EIRP.  Can we also apply for other frequencies like 75 kHz?

I have had my 47CFR5 license for around 3 and a half years.  (It is on its second 2-year renewal.)  Since  47CFR97 formally established the 2200 and 630 meter amateur radio bands, what would be the advantage of reapplying for a renewal?  My grant covers only the 630 and 600 meter bands.  I did not apply for other frequency assignments either for the initial application, or for the follow-up renewal.
