Hello Bill,

Thank you for sharing this sad news.  I know John had been fighting cancer for some 
time, and am sorry to hear that he finally had to move on.   I worked John from a 
number of my 2m and 6m EME DXpeditions, and it was really inspirational how well he 
did with his horizon-only antenna systems.   He certainly demonstrated what DX is 
possible from a QTH with good ground gain, if only people are willing to try.    I 
was happy to be able to give him the final DXCC he needed for his 6m DXCC, which he 
received from ARRL a couple months before he passed away.   I will certainly miss 
John's signal on his moonset when I am out in some remote DXCC, but will remember 
what an inspiration his achievements were to many.  RIP, John.
