[50mhz] MFJ 6m yagi SWR

Hmmm. I did have a pair of those running together a few years ago, but a
bad ice storm here ruined them. I don't remember what the SWR was on them!
It probably was as you described, a bit higher. I found the manual for the antenna,
and on the next-to-last page is this note:

IMPORTANT NOTE: Rain, snow, or ice accumulating on antenna elements normally

increases VSWR by lowering the antenna's resonant frequency.

Precipitation detuning is normal for all VHF Yagis, and the MFJ-

1762 is cut approximately 200 kHz high in frequency to help

compensate for this effect in wet weather.

Although it does say that it's originally cut for lowest SWR at 50.300...

>I have the 3 element MFJ 6 meter yagi and have had pretty good luck with it for a 2 pound antenna. However, following the manual
>in terms of assembly and feeding has left me with a 1.8:1 SWR at 50.125. The antenna achieves a 1:1 SWR at around 50.5 mhz. Have
