OH I DISAGREE strongly.....2m FM is ham's CB

6m SSB or FM is the Gentleman's band...

I have been on 6FM since 1973....and NEVER met with a bad ham.......(most
were scared away due to Channel RF TV 2 but few digitals and analog
lowpowers are left on 54-60MHz these days...OF course dumba** Time Warner
cable on their analog cable feed still has a local station on....it was on 4
and now 40 though calling themselves 4.1...well TWC, put the channels so
they match........Only local in town on its real RF channel is 12 (12.1
ABC/12.2 NBC) and they never get bothered (poor guys at KBMT are stuck at
18KW ERP thanks to their owners delaying in deciding to stay on RF12 and a
new RF 12 popped up near Bryan College Station so they have to be protected!
Doesn't help the reception of them)...

True more are active on 6SSB than FM but the gear is cheap and plentiful (I
HIGHLY recommend the Midland Syntech or XTR series...workhorses..)
