For the past 2 days I have been helping Pat-WX7M get his 6M
KW Rover ready to roll.
Brand new Dodge Ram with a 50 ft telescoping mil surplus tower
mounted in the bed that's raised using a 12V winch. Also mounted
in the bed on a wooden deck are a 4KW 220V AC Generator and
a IC-PW1 KW amplifier/IC706mkIIg body in a custom made
aluminum transit case with 6 muffin fans to keep it cool.
The M2 5 ele 6M yagi rides down the road as one piece on a
aluminum cradle mounted on the Passenger side of the vehicle. When
stopped its a simple matter to stand on the wooden deck mounted
above the roof and install the yagi atop the safety wired Create
RC-5 rotor.
While mobile it will be possible to operate on 80-10M HF using one
of the monoband hamsticks that ride in a tube mounted on the ladder
rack. 6M Mobile operation will utilize one of KB6KQ's latest style
6M loops.
The radio and amplifier are used via remotely mounted control heads
in the cab of the truck.
Over a 5 day period the route will take me from Fallon NV to the
AZ/CA border and then up thru central UT to NE NV and finally
back home to Fallon NV.
Grids traversed in sequence are... DM09, DM08, DM18, DM07,
DM17, DM16, DM26, DM25, DM24, DM23, DM35, DM36,

KQ loop.
