Larry,
Many of us are using email when not in the shack through phones, netbooks,
tablets and laptops and APPRECIATE the "heads-up" when significant
propagation gifts us the opportunity to work something interesting.   
Most of us do not or can not access DX clusters when not in our shacks.

I have always wondered.... Why do people spot DX on e-mail instead of a
Packet Cluster? Several people in the local club do this, too.
