Depending on the vehicle manufacturer, the engine computer as well as the transmission, antilock brake, airbag and the cruise control computer are located in different places. The engine computer on Chevy's is usually on the passenger side, Ford on the drivers side for vans and trucks - passenger side for cars. Early model Ford vans it is on the drivers side under the hood.
