John,
This is just for your reference.  My car is a 2004 Honda Accord and the 
radio is 706 MKIIG.
I do not have any problems.  My configuration is.
The radio is in the trunk.  The DC wires from the battery to the radio are 
#10 dedicated only for the radio.
Next to the radio I have an LC filter.  The L value is unknown to me. It 
came out of a defective computer
power supply.  It was handy and can carry the current.  The C is 400 uF 25 
VDC in parallel with several
Ceramic capacitors, 0.1 and 0.01 uF.  The radio is grounded with a 3/8" 
braid to the body within 1 - 2
feet from the radio.  The antenna is on the trunk lid.
