[50mhz] qsls

I am saddened to hear a fellow ham throws away  qsls.  He doesn't consider 
them part of the qso. How would he feel if he  answered a cq and the other 
station said: I refuse to talk to your call area  or  your state? What if they 
refused to qso with you for ANY reason even  though you have never met. What if 
after you gave your name they said I don't  qso with people with that name?You  
would  be insulted or at least  disappointed. A ham tradition since the 
beginning has always been: ''a qsl is  the final transmission of an enjoyable qso'.
I admit I collect paper qsls. I  enjoy getting & giving them. I have 
thousands. None are  more valuable  than others. I have been a ham 47 yr.s and an 
active HF and now 6m operator.I  have 354 HF countries confirmed with paper cards. 
I also have my first novice  qso confirmed with a paper card. I am chasing DX 
and grid squares on 6m now too.  I send the paper cards all the time. My info 
on QRZ.COM says an SASE is not  necessary.I answer all qsls.
I wonder if this station announced during his cq  that he would talk to you 
but he would never send or receive qsls  how many  replies he would get. 
I happen to be the only active HF station in my county  in Tn. I don't intend 
to spend my life angering my fellow hams. Maybe he should  get a more 
solitary hobby that he can persue alone.
