I have for sale an Icom 706MKII HF/6m/2m mobile sized
transceiver that works fine on HF and 6m (puts out 100
watts on those bands) but is putting out low power on
2 meters. It does about 2-3 watts on 2m when it is
rated at 20 watts. The 2 meter receive is fine and it
will bring up some of the local repeaters on 2m. Has
a built in keyer, tone encoder, but not the optional
DSP unit. This would make a great 6 meter rig as you
get 100 watts out for SSB/CW/FM, and even AM if you
want to run that mode. You could always run an amp on
2m meters to boost your power.
I don't know what happened to the 2 meter transmit, it
was like this when I got it. It might be an easy fix,
I just don't know. I did try resetting the CPU and
adjusting the internal 2 meter power setting to no
avail.
It comes with the hand mic, power cord, original
manual, and original box. It is in good physical
condition with some light scratches on the top cover.
I am asking $370 plus shipping, and am always willing
to accept trade offers. Make me a good trade offer,
you never know what I will take. A Kenwood TS60 would
sure be nice and you would then get the ability to get
on HF. I wouldn't mind a Yaesu FT8900R either.
