I think it's a bit of a problem with the power connection being a bit loose.
I have a Kenwood TS-60 that does that once in a while except it would
act up the worst when I tried to transmit at either the 50 or 100 watt settings,
then it would mysteriously reset itself. But a bit of careful crimping on the
female connectors themselves, to increase the tension that they apply to the
male connectors, should do the trick.
