Wow! After a somewhat delayed start, this 6 meter Es
season is turning out to be a great one! Maybe as
good as 2003, but we will have to wait and see.
Last night the opening here in SW Oklahoma was limited
to 4 land for the first couple of hours, and then the
band just blew wide open. I was hearing all call
areas except 2 and 3 at the same time. Heard W2DAN on
from RI for state #50, but couldn't get through to him
:(. It seems like other parts of the country had the
wider opening longer than we did. It probably opened
up everywhere here around 0145Z or so. Did work 2
Maine stations which is a pretty long haul from here,
and did get 4 new grids (EM82, EN47, EN21, EN24) which
is pretty rare for one evening when you have over 350
grids worked already.
Lets hope the band keeps it up for the June contest!
And if you are in RI, I will be looking for you.
