What mode did you work most of the states on? I'm new to 6 meters, and am
just getting familiar with the band.
I recently acquired a Gonset G50, which is strictly AM, but so far, all I
have heard was an FM repeater on around 53.3 MHz, but no AM. (Just a bunch
of carriers, some with tones on them). I'm using a G5RV inverted vee for an
antenna, which probably isn't ideal, but it seems to work.

Just worked RI for state number 50 today on 6! And it was kind of unusual
how it happened. I just happened to turn the radio on to see 6 open, after
having about given up on it for the summer. I heard Mike, NH6CJ, who lives
about 2 miles west of me tell someone on .125 they were going to QSY to
.150, so I tuned up there to find out who he was working. I about fell out
of my seat when I heard the other station give him FN41, as Mike just needs
RI for state #50 also. It turned out to be W1JJ, and I got him in the log
about 5 minutes later also. Even better, while I was calling Mick, NOKE/VE3
called me and gave me EN39 for another new grid.
What a great day!
