Many years ago, I purchased a new Icom IC551D. I put it and my TR6 on the HP
8640B.
The Drake won....years later, I sold the 551 for a Yaesu FT625RD...mostly
because the Icom's noise blanker was useless. Again, on the signal
generator..the Drake had the hotter receiver. Years later, an IC575H
replaced the Yaesu. They were equal in sensitivity.
For a while I had a Yaesu 897D...the Drake was much more sensitive. Now I
have a PRO, and it is about equal to the TR6.
So many rigs, yet I've kept the TR6. Guess why!!
PS...I have not yet put the TS2000 on the 8640B.
....Dave
