Jason,
what you have will work when the band is open...but for best all around
use and local contacts (out to a few hundred miles) when the band is NOT
open, I would suggest a horizontal antenna like a PAR, M-Squared or
similar (halo, squalo, etc).....you will make a lot more contacts when
the band is not open that way.
FM/rptrs use vertical and for 52.525 simplex, the CS50 will do excellent
at all times....SSB, AM, CW and other weak signal modes are horizontal..
when the band opens, the polarization is skewed by reflections and
really won't matter...but under normal conditions, you have a 20db loss
of signal because of cross pol & that's a POWER difference of 100 to 1!
