[50mhz] Is summer Es late this year??

I guess a better title for my post would have been, "Will the Es be EARLY again
this year?" <g> Oh, well.
Reason I'm getting antsy: When I first got on 6M last June 7th, I set myself
this goal, which was to accomplish 6M WAS and VUCC-200 in my first year on 6M.
When the last of my winter-season Es contacts was logged in February, I was at
WAS 42/42, VUCC 191/187. I figured that during the six or so weeks of spring Es
I was expecting, completing the WAS would be doable (though a challenge) and the
VUCC-200 would be a slam dunk. But that was assuming it would get started in
April (as I had heard it did last year). If it doesn't start until LATE MAY, as
K2DP said, I could be in trouble. ;-) That would only give me a couple of
weeks before June 7th.
Here's hoping we have another early-starting, record-breaking Es season this
spring/summer. Thanks for all the replies!

P.S.: For 6M WAS, need AK, WY, OH, WV, DE, NJ, VT, RI. Some should be easy,
others not so easy. Anybody on the list in those states?
