[50mhz] Anybody in the Chicago area for a sked

Scott,
Regardless of what the folks who collect and use such radios will tell you, PLEASE check the deviation and turn it DOWN to 5 kHz peak if its not there already.....that way the rest of the world on 6 FM will hear you!

Commercial radios do NOT like anything over 7 kHz and will squelch out...but for some reason a lot of the mil radio users keep the deviation high thinking thats the way they should be!
(I will never understand why the military kept to 10-15 kHz deviation anyway! It HURTS your range more than helps it!)
