WELL I still subscribe to the theory that the coax length is virtually
insignificant as to the performance of a proper antenna -- I remember in the
60s - 70s that a lot of CB mobiles were running around with 100' plus of
coax in the trunk to get the VSWR down -- HI HI .. I laughed all the way to
the bank .. my stores sold the stuff!

flat you have to "trim" the coax. I installed a lot of CB's for people
back then and it was amazing how many people just wouldn't stand for a 1.3:1
SWR. Yeah ... like they were experts, but yet, I was the one doing the
install for THEM :-( since they didn't know how!
At least with a 100' of coax rolled up in the trunk you had a nice choke.
