50.10 to 50.39 = 'SSB section' ?
I thought 50.30 to 50.60 was "ALL mode" ?!
But I'm not surprized that Sideband ops would be
crowding right up against the 50.40 AM Call/Net
Freq, just as is std practice on 75m, but I was
hoping (apparently against the odds) that this
kind of mentality wouldn't happen on 6m. <sigh> :-(
Personally, I try to be a gentleman about this and
not venture below 50.300 with AM (and normally much
below 50.350) because I don't want to cause any
interference to the SSB ops... This leaves those
of us that use AM mode with a slice of a 4 MHz
band equaling something less than about 200 Kc...
Considering the narrow emission of the SSB mode,
and that it's in the lower freqs - taking better
advantage of MUF, on a band that can be VERY
MUF-dependant... Well... I'm not looking
for a mode-vs-mode flame war ;-/
Just a little inter-operator consideration.
