I didn't mean to start a war ... although Texas just may succeed from the
union some date. :-) This was Dave's opinion not mine. His argument for a
minimum of 8 is not so much on the TX side but for the improved RX even with
a mast head preamp. He, IMHO, is probably one of the more knowledgeable
people in EME that was why I accepted an invitation to visit his station
during an EME contest a few years back. And for what its worth, his MBA
used up a mere 1 acre of his 2 acre lot. I just uploaded an aerial view of
his old house. Its the lot on the corner and you can see the circle out
back where the MBA used to be at. Besides it takes a lot more cash reserves
than it does acreage to do EME.
