Thanks to all of you who replied to my earlier post.  I got some great
recomendations as well as a TON of support as I try something new.  Guess I
shoulda stated that the Alinco DX-70T is only a choice because I can put it
on my Radio Shack card and make monthly payments.  I live on a disability
check and saving money enough to buy any of the rigs recommended isn't
really an option.  I do certainly thank you all though and look forward to
working you soon!
