Hi All ,
>From my experiance from 14 years on Six and 203 counties worked , the antenna
is a very important piece of the Station , but one other thing that you must
realise
is the QTH is the fundamental element of success .
Miracles are not made by antennas. I have seen this in 9H also. A friend of mine
just living 4 miles away on a hill with 350 ft higher than me and signals at my
side
do not even exist . No antenna in the world will compensate for such difference
.
On the other hand to improve on the antenna systems is what everyone does
and everyone would like to target the best antennas. I build my own so I choose
to take what I can makeas I feal that I can end up with the same quality and
sometimes even better antenna . And as everyone has said todays designs are much
better
due to antennas software , I cannot imagine myself building a yagi today without
a PC
and software.
I know Hams in 9H who have made DXCC with a dipole. So the important thing is
that
you are active and with the best you can put up.
