Howdy All,
Thinking of adding a 6m port to a node stack in Northern Kentucky here
shortly. Curious if there is any activity on 6m packet across the country
anymore? From looking around there seems to be some spotty activity across
the country.
Seems 6m is a lot like 220, every area of the country has it's own different
bandplan...for the better or worse :-) Not trying to start a war over whos
bandplan is the best, that battle has been fought and lost by others before
me as we shot ourselves in the foot on this topic.
I'm doing this as more experimental than anything else, figure if there is a
good frequency in fairly common use across the country it could serve as a
way to detect band openings (strong ones at least, grin).
I've come across the following possible packet freq's:
50.620 - calling freq, probably not the place for a node port?
51.140 ?
51.160 ?
51.180 ?
51.620 ? typo of 50.620 ?
51.700 - seems to be in use in areas of the midwest
SERA's (coordinates most of the Southeast repeaters) suggests the following
for packet:
53.490
53.510
53.530
53.550
53.570
53.590
Curious if anyone had any info on activity on any of these in their
respective areas.
Just trying to get a feel for what is in use and where it is in use.
Thanks in advance!
