I'd like to thank everyone for their answers to my question. I'll try to
answer all your questions at one time.

They WERE selling for $129. I say were because after I bought mine this
afternoon, there were only two left in the state of Oklahoma.

I haven't had much time to play with it, but so far I'm impressed with the
features. I mainly wanted it for the scanning, ease of carry, and combined
memory instead of separate bands. I have a mobile powered by alarm batteries
in a camera bag for full-fledged operating and major emergencies. I needed a
low-budget second radio that I can carry anywhere and stay in touch.

As far as the poor speaker goes, I will be using it with a speaker/mike or
headset most of the time so that's not a major issue.

I ordered the BNC adapter but will probably never use it. The SMA mount
should last longer if I leave the original antenna on all the time.

Since the battery has its own charge connection, I probably won't use the
external power connection much.
