Thanks to all that sent helpful suggestions for solving my quest.  Many referred to the relatively low cost scanners which are new available, dedicated to simple scanning of 35-mm strips and slides.  I wasn't aware of the availability of these low cost items, but have just ordered one from my  store of first choice (eBay!).  Will let you know how it works. 



Also received some suggestions on using flatbed scanners to handle the fewer number of other size negatives in my collection.  A nd, commercial sources to help with the task.   Will pursue these items  after tackling the 35-mm stuff. 



Thanks again for the many suggestions.  It's good to know we have a large group on the reflectors, ready to help out on almost any request.
