While I agree with your opinion Budd, one of your statements is incorrect...
The THF6 from Kenwood DOES have 220 at a full 5 watts....I own one :)

Heck I think we need to petition the FCC to give back 220-222.....all the
ACSSB 220 systems I run across are OFF the air and equipment has been
removed.....one of my company UHF repeaters used a 1 5/8 in Heliax line left
abandoned on the tower from a 10channel 220 SMR system that never got any
use! What a waste of money that was!
