Note that you don't **need** to bury the radials
for them to work. The only reason to bury them
is to keep the spousal unit happy, or to keep
them out of the lawnmower blades. If you can,
just lay them out on the grass/ground, and pin
down the far end.
Grass cutting is not an issue in the Winter in
the North: put out a bunch of temporary radials
during Winter, and roll them up in the Spring!.
