Thanks to all who replied to my question about my inverted V antenna.
Sounds like my best bet is to put up an inverted L. I do have a couple of
questions regarding the grounding system. From what I have read, you should
run 1/4 wave radials for the ground system. On my small lot, that is not an
option. Some directions I can probably run almost 100' and other directions
only about 20' or 30'. Are the lengths of the radials all that important?
Also, I have read where 8 radials will work but the more the better. Does
anyone have any opinions on what would be a good amount to run. If 100
radials is not going to give me much more benefit than 50, it is not worth
the extra work. Is there a point of diminishing return on the number of
radials?

As far as the inverted L is concerned, I can get the vertical section to
about 54' with the remaining length at about a 30 degree angle slanting
downward towards a tree that I plan on hooking the end of the antenna on.
Does anyone see any problems with this? The tree isn't all that high so I
can't have the wire parallel to the ground (Tree is only about 25' high.)

Thanks for all your input and opinions. I look forward to hearing any
suggestions and ideas you might have.
