[10m] Checking for 10 Meter Openings

Signals were pounding into Mississippi last night from the mid west and mid 
Atlantic regions.

A quick tune across the CB channels is a good indicator that the band should 
be open. Quite often, however, you won't hear anyone on 10 meters until you 
let fly with a few rounds of cq on 28.4 for SSB, 29.0 for AM, or 29.6 for 
FM.

Check 28.060 for qrp cw, or the lower 25 khz for other cw signals.

Don't forget the ever-growing population of cw beacons that operate between 
28.2 and 28.3 mhz and the Canadian beacon on 28.175. Most of these are 
running 25 watts or less.
