If using MCW, it is allowed from 28.3 to 29.7 MHz.

  First make sure  that MCW  is allowed  as a cw beacon.   If the
transmitter is running MCW  using AM with a  tone injected  into the mic
audio port,  it's not CW and teh bandwidth of that signal   is  too wide for
the  cw  beacon band.   Better off using an old  fm  exciter from an old GE
radio  with  crystal   and  applying no  audio to it.  Keep the oscillator
running and just key the  buffer amp.   Yes it takes  some soldering .
