[10m] CB to 10 Meter Beacon transmitter conversion?

Hi All,
Being a natural born "beacon hound", I have long wanted to put up a 10M
beacon of my own (yeah, just what we need, another beacon ;-) Today I was
given a CB "Ringo" antenna some push-up poles and even a non-operative 40
Chan CB. Since I made my living for awhile repairing these critters I
didn't have any trouble repairing the CB (bad crystal, it had been
"squashed"). Transmitting into my MFJ Autotuner (MFJ-993B Intellituner) the
digital wattmeter indicates that it's putting out 3.8 watts into a dummy
load, about
what would be expected for a "stock" radio. (I haven't tweaked the TX any
yet).
Anyway, NOW I want to convert this critter to a CW only transmitter in the
frequency range of 28200-28300KCs. An extensive "Google" hasn't turned up
any helpful information so far. This HAS to be a "Zero Cost" project as
there are NO funds for it.
Here are the specifics of the radio.
1. JC Penny model 6204, AM only.
2. PLL02A PLL chip. 2 Xtals, one is 10.240 (the one that was bad and I had
spares).
I intend to remove the modulation transformer (don't need the voltage drop),
audio ouput chip, most of the receive only circuitry etc, leaving just a
plain PLL and TX chain, but it would be MUCh easier if I had a schematic of
the unit. Anybody have one you could email me?
ALL SUGGESTIONS for this project are welcome. I would like to "shoot for"
about 8-10 Watts output, CW (no modulation).
Any ideas on what stage to key (I'm thinking of keying the driver stage)? I
plan on using my OLD Pentium laptop computer as a programmable ID-er keyer
(I already have a nice DOS program for that function).
