[1000mp] FT1000MP Rec terminal

It is not a problem unless you are working SO2R or Multi and have the FT1000MP in Receive mode while another rig is transmitting.  The relay at the input of the MP's RF board de-energizes and opens the connection to the RX Ant input during transmit if the RX Ant is in use. That was not the case in the FT1000/1000D as people found out the hard way.
To reiterate; Operating the MP with a separate receive antenna where the MP is the only active transmitting device in the area antenna is not a problem.  The RX Ant is disconnected during transmit.

I did a search for "RX front-end saver circuit" and it turned up many
useful articles, some with schematic diagrams and parts lists, for good
RX protection circuits.

I have used the commercial KD9SV Front-end Saver for many years with
excellent results. It provides the additional function of buffering the
amp keying circuit to protect the rig from damage by amps that have high
voltage or current keying requirements. There is a homebrew version of
the KD9SV here:

You need only build the part you need, so you could leave off the amp
keying circuit part if your amp is of modern design (low voltage/current
keying).

Good luck with your project,
