You said antenna A or B no difference. I assume you meant you moved the antenna
between the A and B connectors with the same results. The MP is known to have
connections between the SO-239s and board go bad, but not both at once. It's
odd that you are observing normal Ic. I'm thinking that would make a bad PA
unlikely. Can you notice any difference in the signal your hear in the
separatae receiver when you turn the MP's power control down and up on CW or AM?
I'd look for a single point failure between PA and output connector. Relays and
connectors are the most likely, but anything goes. I can take a look at normal
currents on my MPs as well as a peek at the Service Manual if you like. Let me
know.

Subject: [1000mp] FT-1000MP Tx No Output
Looking for some help from the FT-1000MP experts. I'm a new owner of an
FT-1000MP but not new to amateur radio - first licensed 1960. I've identified my
observations to help diagnose the problem .
- in the middle of a SSB
QSO noticed the Po (power output) on the meter stopped indicating
- no RF output showing on external SWR bridge with dummy load
- receive is normal
- on voice peaks the Ic (collector current) shows what I believe to be normal
high current indications
- on a separate receiver I hear what I think is normal driver stage output
- no RF output on CW either (showing significant but
probably normal Ic)
- disabling auto ant tune with dummy load makes no difference
- when the original outage occurred the cooling fan turned on
- switching between
antenna connectors A and B has no effect
- a full reset
had no effect
I'm assuming a PA problem, but since Ic seems normal, it is confusing. PA
appears to be being driven yet no RF out. Anyone offer some ideas of the cause
and possible solutions? Thank you in advance.
