[1000mp] Need a troubleshooting pointer

Hi Tom.

I am about 99% sure from the description that it is a VCO problem. I had
that problem on two ranges I think.

The link you got should give you enough information, but feel free to
contact me by email or phone.

The solder joints I found bad were on wire leaded inductors, I did not take
the shield off the board so I am not 100 percent sure what the parts were.

There is a voltage measurement that will tell you right away if the VCO is
working right.
