[1000mp] Tuner Unit

The radio does not come out of transmit.  The TUNER and the WAIT light
remain illuminated.  The only way to get back to receive is to press the
TUNE button again.

While transmitting to a dummy load with the tuner off, there is no SWR.  If
I put the tuner on, the TUNER and WAIT light illuminate.  If I transmit into
the same dummy load, the SWR is infinite.  So it is safe to say that the
tuner is not working at all.  Depressing the TUNE button just puts the radio
in transmit but the tuner does not operate to find  the sweet spot.

I would like to remove the unit from the radio to inspect it but I do not
know where it is located.  Any help is appreciated.

Also, I did the standard reset of SUB(CE) + ENTER while powering it on to
reset the tuner memories.  No results with that.

I have seen that and it doesn't really mean  much.     Your radio is trying 
to retune at that  frequency like it was the last time you were there.     
If  your auto tune says you are tuned you are tuned.
