[1000mp] Older FT-1000MP problem

Hello!
 Has anyone seen this problem?
 Yesterday I turned on the MP and it decided not to come on. After several attempts it came up and worked fine.
 This morning the same thing happened but with a twist. I would turn it on and shortly after turn it back off. When turned off there was a sound coming from the receiver that was a "sort of" motorboating sound for just about one second. Anyway, after maybe 30 minutes I tried again and lo and behold it woke up. So far this morning it is still working.
 Big contests coming up very soon... and ideas out there?
