[1000mp] ft1000mp, problems,erattic when turned on cold !!!

hi guys
i have a 1000mp works great as long as its warm !!  when you first turn it
on in the morning cold, if its below 60 degrees it will come on and act
crazy, it will turn on and off the front panel buttons for a few minutes
!!!! then it will settle down and be ok, after you fix all your settings
!!! if you try before you give it time, it wont accept any commands!!  any
ideas?? cold solder joints???  cables???
