Hi, I have not operated RTTY for years with my old CAM and like to get back into it so I better ask to see which way is best. I am planning on buying a Signalink USB and hook it to my logging computer which runs Windows 95 .
I have an older FT1000MP and wonder which cable to get to connect it to the radio..
does it go into the 8pin mic plug or do I use the 5 pin DIN packet connector on the rear of the MP. I would prefer the rear but If Mic plug, then how do I switch over to SSB , do I unplug it and screw the MIC back in?
I have looked at Tigertronics web site and they show both plugs. The new plug and play jumper modules may look nice but I think that the jumpers are easy to install.
Another question is that they also have the SL-1+ which needs to be powered wit 12V , How does that one compare to the USB other than being plugged into a USB port of the computer I have a USB port or serial port that I am not using.
I hope that someone can point me in the right direction on what to buy before I make a costly mistake.
thanks, Juergen N9RD
