[1000mp] FT1000MP CW monitor

Well, well. Maybe I didn't waste everybody's time.

For the purpose of this test I've connected amplified stereo speakers
directly to Mark V rear panel AF out. (Well, via the patch bay that is
- easier than fiddling around at the back of the rig)
I'm connected to that great dummy load in the sky aka 10m.
The MkV is NOT in DUAL mode so only VFO A Rx is active.
MONI is on.
I hear band noise in the left spkr and nothing in the right.
Paddles are plugged into front panel KEY jack.
I send some Vs on CW and hear them in the right spkr. BUT, I actually
have to transmit (although RF PWR is at min) i.e. VOX button is IN.
Works the same with paddles plugged into rear panel KEY jack.
Monitor level is only slightly affected by setting of MONI control.

This is different to the usual situation where you get sidetone in
phones plugged into the front panel Phones jack even if you don't
actually transmit.

Plug Yaesu hand mic into front panel mic jack
Hit PTT and say something
Hear myself in the right spkr
Level is adjustable with MONI control

Don't know if it makes any difference but headphone stereo mode is activated
Menu 4-8 HEAdPHON is set to STEREO-2

Menu 4-9 AF GAIN is set to SEPERATE
Set it to BALANCE. Still get the cw in the right spkr.

If you want, I can make a stereo recording demoing the noise on L and
the monitor output on R.

Haven't tried it but I'm pretty sure it works on RTTY also.

Hope this helps
