Jim:
When I key my FT1000MP it seems to silence the AF output from the AF-OUT
jack -- even when I have the Monitor function turned ON. I do hear the
monitor tone on my FT1000MP internal speaker. However, if I use headphones
there is no audio output from the internal speaker nor from the AF_OUT jack.
I believe this is the issue for Sante [and me] when we wish to record the RX
signal and also out own TX signal during a contest. At this point the only
way I have found to do this type of recording and capture both signals is to
parallel the connection to the headphones to get the audio which can be fed
to the recording device.
In a somewhat long post previously I suggested that there may be an easily
accessible internal jack that would make the monitor and RX audio signals
available. With what I would expect to be a simple circuit design it should
be possible to have AGC control of the audio and send it out of the radio in
a way that will not compromise the existing circuit paths.
