[1000mp] FT-1000MP MKV Receiver Problems

John,

I rather doubt this will of help, but it might be a start!

One of my Icom rigs exhibited the same problems, if not similar as yours. It was an "Analog to Digital" board that had gone South on me and I sent it in to Icom and they replace board and fixed it for "Free"

When I turned the rig on and not moving the VFO knob, I could hear the unit! Station in the speaker, going up or down in frequency at an alarming rate of speed

I don't have the savvy or technical ability or experience to discuss digital circuitry, but started my career in May of 1960, and grew up building radios and amps the old fashion way with tubes, No IC's etc., so good luck with FT-1000, MP, Mk V. Mine is a relatively late model and the only problem I ever had was the "gaseous-HV" display went out, and Yaesu fixed it for free

Hi Uwe,

I have removed the Tuning knob and the jogwheel assembly off from the rig and it still behaves exactly the same. E.g tunes down after an hour or so. If I turn the jogwheel in the clockwise direction when it is still in place on the rig then it will temporary stop tuning down until I let go. Thats why I removed the whole assebly from the rig.
