Hello Bob,
Well it was not working previously...no doubt because I was on RTTY and
those fins could cook an egg. No fan sound nor any air movement.
I took the top cover off to check the fan which was not in a bind but it's
very possible that the red/black wires to the internal speaker were laying
across the fan as several have mentioned. No way to tell because when you
pull the top cover it would pull those wires away from the fan too. Anyway I
pull the top cover and made sure those wires would not interfere with the
fan and put the top cover back and now the fan is working.
The rig was into Yaesu about 6 months ago for lighting repair and must have
happen then.
I wrote Yaesu to let them know.
73,
Randy

Randy one small note about applying 12V directly to the fan.
You may have a bad senor and the fan could run when you
apply the 12V, but not from the internal voltage source,
just a thought. I truly suggest listening real close after
you have TX for a short period of time. If the fan is
working you should hear the fan come on or speed up.
